Last updated: 8 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data StackPiston (stackpiston.com) collects, why, and what you can do about it. StackPiston is run from India (“we”, “us”). Contact: alerts@stackpiston.com.
Summary
- You can read the site without giving us your name or email.
- If you join our email list, we keep your email address to send you launch alerts. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- We count clicks on our buy buttons without storing anything that identifies you.
- Some third-party services we use (listed below) receive technical data such as your IP address when you visit.
- We do not sell your personal data.
1. Data we collect
Email sign-ups
When you use the “Get launch alerts” form, we collect your email address and the address of the page where you signed up. We use them to send you emails about upcoming launches and related offers. Our emails are sent through Kit (kit.com), which stores your address for us and may record whether you open our emails or click their links.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to remove you by writing to alerts@stackpiston.com.
Click counts
When you click a buy button, our site records which review and which button was clicked, and the date. We use this to understand which parts of our pages are useful. We do not store your IP address, name, email or any cookie with these counts. To stop abuse, your IP address is turned into a one-way code and kept for about 10 minutes, then discarded. The same short-term check protects our sign-up form.
Server logs
Our hosting provider, Hostinger, keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time) to run and secure the server.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we keep your message and email address to reply and to deal with your request.
2. Third-party services
These services receive data directly from your browser when you visit. Their own privacy policies apply.
- Kit (email list), only if you sign up.
- Google Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details.
- Video players (YouTube, Vimeo or Wistia): when a review page shows a product video, the player is loaded from that provider, which may receive your IP address and set cookies. YouTube videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode.
- Microsoft Clarity (if enabled): records how visitors use our pages, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, so we can improve them. It uses cookies. Microsoft’s privacy statement applies.
- JVZoo and product vendors: when you click a buy button, you leave our site. JVZoo and the vendor set their own cookies (including the affiliate cookie that credits the sale to us) and handle your purchase and payment. We do not receive your payment details.
3. Cookies
Our site’s own code does not set cookies for visitors. WordPress sets cookies only for people who log in to manage the site, and our hosting and caching software may set technical cookies needed to deliver pages. Cookies may be set by the third-party services listed above (video players, Microsoft Clarity if enabled, and JVZoo after you click a buy button). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
4. Why we use your data (legal bases)
- Email list: your consent, given when you sign up. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.
- Click counts, server logs and security checks: our legitimate interest in running, securing and improving the site.
- Replying to you: to deal with your request.
5. How long we keep data
- Email address: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Click counts by day: about 120 days; after that, only total counts are kept. None of these identify you.
- Abuse-check codes: about 10 minutes.
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to deal with your request.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, to take a copy of it, and to withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, email alerts@stackpiston.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
7. International transfers
The services we use may store and process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, those providers use safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
8. Children
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16 (or the minimum age in your country).
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
